Sliet paused at his concern, realizing that he was right. It had been a long day, and getting shot herself hadn't helped. Maybe she couldn't handle healing him right now, even if it could have been much worse. She let her hands fall to her sides, getting to her feet. "Let's go get you some help then" she said shakily, turning back in the direction of the big building.

Harir watched her as she got up. He was in pain, and worried for her, but he still felt unbearably upset. He didn't know what to think, or how much of what Sliet had said had been truth. He fallowed, walking up to the building after her, looking down.
When they reached the doors, a few people had gotten up and were armed, looking worried. "We heard shots- what- oh god-" One of them muttered, noticing the blood on their coats.

Sliet shuffled by the people at the door, too tired to try and calm them down. "A couple of scouts. They're gone now." She muttered in explination on her way by, looking around the building for her friend. She found Raven right where she'd left him, poking him gently to try and wake him up. "Raven... Raven... i need a favour." She whispered insistently, hating to wake the kid, but she knew how good he was when it came to this stuff.

Raven startled awake, looking at Sliet in alarm for a moment before he realized who she was, his eyes widening as he took in the blood all over her. "O-Of course, A-are you hurt?" He asked in worry.
Pel had laid across his legs at this point, so he gently slipped out from under her, getting to his feet a little unsteadily. "What do you want me to do?"

Harir didn't look at the people who watched him and Sliet with confusion, fallowing her over to where she was waking up the recruit. He didn't have a good feeling about this. He was pretty sure he'd given the kid unpleasant orders before.

Sliet watched Raven in quiet apology for waking him up. "I'm fine now. But Harir got shot and i don't think that I can help without doing more harm than good at the moment. Is there anything you can do? Just has to go until morning. " she said quietly without looking at Harir, crossing her arms in front of her chest. She knew shed messed up. She hadn't wanted to say anything to Harir about his brother until shed had the chance to ask Katherine about it. She would probably know what exactly had happened, if they had had anything to do with it.

"I'll try." He replied immediately, quickly gathering up what he'd been collected for healing, and fallowed Sliet over to where Harir was. He approached the other a little warily. "Can y-you come to the fire?" He asked, unable to see much in the darkness. The other seemed to walk without any help until he sat down in the glow of the flames.

Harir avoided looking at the kid as he checked the wound and carefully moved the coat and shirt back from his shoulder.
He winced bitterly as the alchol was dabbed against the wound, but managed to get through it without needing something to bite on. The kid stopped in worry a few times when he noticed Harir was struggling to keep his composure, but he just wanted it over. When he was more or less patched up, Raven used makeshift bandages to stay the bleeding. It was pretty bad, and the man had probably already lost a lot, but if he kept warm and rested, he should be alright until Sliet could heal him.

Raven stood up a little unsteadily after Harir had laid down, looking at Sliet. "H-he should be okay, j-just keep an eye on h-him. I-f you need anything just let me know." He replied, voice heavy with exhaustion, glancing off in the direction of Pel, and then over the other wounded gathered around. "M-maybe I-. I should check the others again anyway." He added.

Harir remained still with his face turned to the fire and away from Sliet, laying uncomfortably and lost in thought.

Sliet nodded to the boy, turning to look at Harir. "Thanks Raven. I owe you one. Don't push yourself too hard." She said distractedly, watching Harir with a pained expression. She had to say something, anything, but she couldn't find the words. She didn't want to make things any worse than they alredy were. She walked over the where he was laying, sitting down beind him uneasily. She looked between his back and the ground a few times before speaking. "I'm sorry." She said quietly, meaning it for whatever good it did anyone. She regretted telling him like that, and not telling him sooner, and if it actually had anything to do with her, she regretted that a little bit too. She would change it all if she could, but it was a little bit late for that now.

Harir said nothing. He wasn't ignoring her, he just didn't know what to say back. He was angry about how she'd told him, but he knew she had been drunk. Moreso, he was upset that she'd waited this long to tell him. He just needed time to think about things. It was hard to take a step back and look at this from a reasonable angle. Lin was more to him that just a casuality in the way of the greater good. He was his brother, his friend, someone who'd loved him and looked after him.
At the same time, as upset as he was, he'd been worried for Sliet, his anger didn't blot out the feeling he had for her, as conflicted as he felt.
He looked at her quietly. "Can... Can we just sleep?" He asked tiredly, looking off.

Sliet nodded, unable to look at her friend. She laid down a few feet away from him, curling up in a ball and closing her eyes, her exhaustion quickly dragging her into her nightmares, despite her steong sense of unease.

Harir remained awake, despite how much he wanted to be asleep. He wasn't sure if it was the lingering pain, the adrenaline from the fight, or how hard it was to put his mind to ease now.
He looked over at Sliet and didn't know what to feel. As angry and confused as he was, he'd been genuinely terrified in the moment when she'd run at the scout and had gotten shot. Noticing her seeming uneasy, he hesitated for a a long few minutes before getting up and sleepily moving a little closer, trying to offer some warmth, or so that she would at least have him there with her if she woke up from another nightmare.

Sliet woke later than she had intended, still not feeling as rested as she should have. Her nightmares had new faces now. She was still being chased most of the time, and they still always caught her at some point, but the shadow people were growing in number, and some of their faces were even more familiar now. Some of them she'd killed the day before, some a very long time ago, and they were all out for revenge and she was always alone. She sat up sleepily, it may have been later than intended, but it was still early, most people still sound asleep. She looked around the building, noticing how close Harir was now. She could have sworn that shed slept farther away last night on purpose. Had she moved over in her sleep? She shrugged it off, watching Harir sadly for a long moment, deciding it was best if she didn't wake him up, reaching over to touch his shoulder gently, careful not ro wake him as she started to heal the wound from the night before.

Harir woke up a few minuets after, blinking up at Sliet before looking away as he sat up, clearing his throat and realizing she must have healed him. "Th-thanks. Are you alright?" He asked.

Raven woke up relatively early, as he normally did, and glanced around at the sleeping crowd quietly. Today was going to be rough. He didn't know how many of the wounded weren't going to wake up today, and it would be difficult to continue the journey when so many of the carts and supplies had been ruined. Glancing over at Pel, he smiled a little, then booped her nose to wake her up.
The girl batted his hand away and glared at him with sleepy-half open eyes before turning over. "Morning Pel."
"Fuck off short stack." She mumbled.
"Training, remember?" Raven asked gently. Maybe she hadn't slept well.
Pel shot up. "Oh yeah, thanks." She replied, suddenly awake, getting up and gathering her things before heading off to find Sliet.

Raven got up and checked around, but fortunately, most seemed to be alright except for a few fevers, but they hadn't lost anyone. He felt enormously releived and went to catch up to pel, walking with her as they went up to Sliet.

"I'm fine." Slket said evenly watching Harir atentively, trying to get a read on his mood. She got to her feet, giving up rather quickly. "I should go and find Pel. " she said awkwardly, glad shed agreed to help the other, as now it gave her an excuse to get away for a while and maybe think about what to say. She turned and headed in the direction she could see pel and Raven walking without saying anything more. "And how are you two this morning? " she asked them, offering a tired smile.

Pel looked around for Sliet, walking quickly next to Raven. When she spotted the other, she headed to meet her. She felt excited to learn but at the same time uncertain and nervous. "Good morning. We're fine, are you alright?" Pel replied curiously. "I heard about the scouts last night." She shot a quick glare at Raven. He'd been the only one of them tending to the wounded recruits as well as the settlers, and she wouldn't be surprised if the ones who had shot at Sliet and her friend had only been there because of him, but bit back a comment, it wasn't any use to confront him or fight about it now, not when she knew it wouldn't change his view on things.

"I'm fine." Sliet said a little too quickly, already tired of answering that particular question for the day. "Nothing I couldn't handle" She finished with a pained expression at the memory, pressing her hand unconsciously to the newest hole in her jacket. She would have to find both of them new ones before long. "Ready to start?" she asked tiredly, changing the subject.

Pel nodded. "Yeah, of course." She replied eagerly. She was tired, but she wanted to learn how to heal. She wouldn't have to worry so much about those around her if she could seal wounds and mend broken bones. She couldn't count the times where she wished she would have known about her abilities beforehand. When her and Raven had been separated, she might have been able to fight the soldiers off and have healed both of them, and they might have ended up in a completely different situation that what they had both gone through.
She'd noticed certain things about herself as a child- she often didn't feel pain and would heal quickly, but had always just thought she was tough.
There had been one time she'd healed someone else before, though she had been very young; Raven had met up with her with bruises from his father written all over him, and when she'd touched him the dark spots had seemed to fade under her fingertips. It was the only time it had happened though. After that, she'd taken to trying to poke and pat her friend when he'd scraped his knees or had fallen and hurt himself, thinking she had magical power, but it had done nothing more than make him cry out pain, much to his alarm and her disappointment.

"Alright then." Sliet muttered hesitantly, unsure of how to feel about that much enthusiasm so early in the morning. She took a moment to consider how exactly she was going to do this before turning to the dark haired boy. "Raven. Would you mind helping a little bit? I promise not to punch you again." She asked almost apologetically.

Raven glanced up at Sliet, then back at Pel, nodding. "Y-yeah. That's fine." He replied hesitantly. He could guess what she wanted, but he trusted Pel in any case. The girl on the other hand, paled a little, stepping beside her friend. "We... aren't practicing on him, are we?" She asked, trying not to sound too nervous.
"I-it's alright." Raven added quickly.

"It'll be fine."she reassured pel. "We'll only do small things and if anything goes wrong, I'm right here. " she finished, reaching for ravens hand. The first thing you have to do is numb the area, otherwise it's going to hurt a lot. "She said, slowly numbing the boys hand.

Raven tensed up as she took his hand, but held still, watching the two curiously. He was a little apprehensive about the nanotech being used to heal him, remembering how terribly the basic medical injections hurt. He would have gone through with it anyway; this was something Pel wanted to desperately learn, but he felt a little relief when Sliet numbed his hand. He reached over and took out his knife, holding onto it encase Sliet wanted to explain some things before Pel actually attempted to heal him.
When they were ready, he nicked his palm before putting his knife back and standing with his hand slightly out.

Pel looked at the two, trying to hide her sudden uncertainty. She didn't like this, but she'd asked for it. "You're sure about this? Just. just tell me if you want to stop." She told Raven seriously, but he just nodded and looked at her with that dumb helpful face.

Sliet watched Raven cut his hand before turning to Pel. "Now just focus on your intention and what it is you are doing." she instructed, letting go of the boys hand and taking a step back to give Pel room, watching attentively.

Pel nodded, clasping Raven's wrist with one hand to keep it still before taking a deep breath and looking at him.
He smiled back at her almost happily and she and she shut her eyes for a moment before turning her attention to his palm and laying her hand over it.
She tried to imagine the cut sealing, trying to will it to heal. She felt things almost like memories going faster through her head but couldn't seem to grasp anything.
She felt Raven twitch and looked up at his slightly at his half horrified half trying-to-stay-calm face before glancing back down at their hands. Blood was welling up between her fingers and over his hand, dripping into the snow.
"Oh god- oh god-no-no-no!" She yelped, her eyes wide in terror, pulling back and then quickly trying to cover the wound with both her hands.

Sliet watched as Pel tried to heal the small cut, seeming far more perplexed than stressed over the outcome. She stood there in thought for a moment, trying to figure out what exactly had happened before reaching for Raven's hand again, gently peeling it away from Pel and starting the familiar process herself. It took virtually no time at all, healing others being nearly second nature. It had been the only thing she had really known how to do before shed met Katherine. She tried to pay more attention to how she did it this time, being sure she hadn't missed anything. "you okay?" she asked, looking up at the dark haired boy once she had finished, hoping he hadn't been freaked out too badly.

Raven nodded quickly, wiping his hand off on the snow. He knew Pel hadn't meant it, he didn't think she would ever try to hurt him purposefully, and he wasn't scared of her. It was an accident, that was all.
Pel on the other hand, looked a little less calm, shaking a little and hurriedly trying to get her friend's blood off of her hands, looking close to tears in her frustration. "I-it's alright Pel." Raven said softly, when she didn't reply, he caught her hand gently to stop her from scrubbing it raw, squeezing it a little as she stood back up, taking another breath. "Maybe y-you're just thinking t-too hard?" He asked. She had seemed to be doing well before she'd lost her calm and made it worse.
After a moment, when Pel had relaxed a little, Raven nicked his palm again and set his knife down before holding his hand out to Pel again.
She took it a second time, avoiding his painfully trusting eyes.
The girl attempted again, trying to focus calmly.
She watched in alarm as blood started to trickle from his hand again but kept her breathing slow and managed to mostly seal the wound. She drew back- she's injured it, but at least repaired it regardless. There were pockmarked scars in his palm now, still wet with blood, but she'd stopped the bleeding at least.
Raven smiled at her proudly after looking at his hand a little quizzicly. "See! Look, you did it!" He had felt the pain a little on that one, his hand starting to regain feeling, but it wasn't too bad.
Pel hesitated. "But what if you'd been shot? I made that a lot worse be-before I fixed it." She replied, then glanced at Sliet.

Sliet stepped back when Raven nodded, watching Pel try again quietly. She made no motion to help when the bleeding got worse, not about to do anything until things got too bad, or one of them panicked. She grinned at Pel's success, looking over Ravens hand happily, though her smile lessened as the other voiced her doubts. Based on how this was going already, if she had to guess, she would have to say that there was something wrong with her system that was making this difficult, something incomplete. She didn't want to tell her that though, she seemed too excited over this and Sliet wasn't about to crush her hopes. Besides, she had proven she could do it. She rested a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "It'll be alright. I'm sure all you need is practice." she said softly."Besides. the best way to heal a gunshot wound is to keep it from happening in the first place. Think you can handle it?"
