Sliet pulled her jacket on and stretchef, yawning hugely. Now she was kicking herself on the inside for deciding to get up this early. She managed to get most of her stuff together before noticing Matvey watching them.she walked over to sit on the edge of the empty bed so that she was facing the young boy. "I guess I could tell you what you guys need to know before we leave, but you probably wouldn't tell the others, would you? " she asked him, meeting his gaze. She didn't mean to hurt the kids feelings, but based on what Piper had told her, it was correct. Shifting her gaze to the sleeping kids, she got to her feet, walking over to where August was sleeping. She poked him lightly in an attempt to wake him, whispering the whole time. "Hey. Hey August. Get up. Come on, it's cold out. I don't think you want me dumping water on you." She threatened, though she would never follow through.

Matvey glanced down almost imediately as she turned her focus on him, shrinking a little into the bed and not replying as she moved away to speak to one of the others. He wasn't sure if she was mad at him based on what she said and decided not responding would be the safest option. She had left him alone, so she didn't care enough for an answer to hurt him over it.
August, enjoying the warmth of a bed for the first time in months, was a little reluctant to wake up. "Yeah mum, I'll feed the cows in min," He slurred before she spoke about water and it being cold out, and woke a little more, blinking with blurry eyes at Sliet as he sat up and remembered where he was.
"W-what is it?" He asked tiredly, trying to get up quickly and almost tumbling out of the bed. Piper let out a cry of protest as the blankets were pulled off and Roy sat up, looking confused as to why everyone was up before him.

Sliet sighed, donning her old 'I'm surrounded by idiots ' expression. Maybe she should have woken Roy up instead. He didn't seem overly fond of her but it may have prevented the domino effect that was everyone waking up. "I wanted to tell you some things and see how your side is before I left." She muttered, crossing her arms.

August stood up, straightening himself out a bit. "Oh-okay." He replied waiting for her to say whatever she was going to. He was a little confused about her wanting to check his wound. He barely remembered what she'd done the other day, but other than a small scar it had seemed perfectly fine, as if it had healed years ago.
Roy and Piper turned to listen as well, sleepy but curious.

Harir watched absently from where he stood at the door. He hadn't really spoken to the kids, so it was probably best to stay out of it.

Sliet looked down at the boy seriously. "First off, listen to Ashi. She may be a litttle brat sometimes, shes just trying to keep as many people safe as possible. Second, shes not going to keep an eye on you to make sure you guys are okay. If you need something desperately, then ask her, but otherwise you would be best served steering clear of her as much as possible. Get yourselves new coats as soon as you can. Most of the people here have been royally screwed over by the military and carry serious grudges. They won't care where your loyalties lie." She said, rattling off most of what Ashi had told her the night before. She stood up taller for her last warning, trying to appear more intimidating. "I on the other hand do care. I hope you were serious about what you said about how the Federation won't succeed, August, because there have been a few federation spies dome through here lately to mess things up. You are here on my word, so if you do anything to betray that trust warranting it, I will hunt you down, assuming someone else doesn't get to you first." She threatened, her voice stern. As much as she didn't want ro see it happen, for once her threat wasnt void of truth. She would do it, and so would anyone else in this settlement most likely. She relaxed considerably, her eyes softenning to her usual worried look. "I worked hard to save your life, August. Don't waste it." /and don't make me regret it/ she thought, staring down at him, tired, worried and reluctant to leave them behind. They didn't know how to function here yet, and as sure as she was that they were smart enough to figure it out, that didn't change that she wanted to be around to make sure they did.

August looked back at her, listening carefully. While Roy had more so taken the lead among the four of them, he still wanted to keep the others safe. He nodded obediently as she listed off instructions. He has been serious; he felt no love for the military of the federation. He had no one left because of them, and the same went for Roy, Piper and Mat. He thought that if they had a choice, as they did now, there wasn't any want to return to the federation. When she finished, he nodded again. "I won't." He said certainly. He was still a little scared about settling in with these people, but maybe it would be alright.
The other three remained quiet, but took in what she said.

Harir glanced up, feeling a little sorry for both the kids and Sliet. She seemed sort of attached to the four recruits.

Sliet nodded curtly. "Good" she told him before turning to the others. "The same goes for you guys too. Don't do anything stupid. " she instructed, looking over each of them twice more each before turning back to Harir and the door. "Maybe well meet up again under more favorable circumstances." She called over her shoulder, pulling the door open. " but untill then." She finished, waving back at the kids on her way out the door.

Harir fallowed Sliet quietly as they headed out to leave the settlement. Not many others were up yet- getting a final nights rest in their hard-earned homes before moving on. He had found a place to rest the horse where it had feed and water, so hopefully that combined with it not having been ridden the day before, it would have regained some energy. He decided not to ask about the station. He was still rather in the dark about everything, but was sure it was better to ask questions when they were alone, or there was little chance of him being caught and interrogated somehow. Besides, there was a settlement between them and their destination, he was pretty sure.

Sliet was quite happy once she got stormflame back , glad to know they were going to be on the road again, as much as she had enjoyed a bed for the night. She yawned on their way out of the settlement, almost leaving before stopping mid-stride with the realization that she should probably tell Ashi that she was headed out, and taking Harir with her. It would do no one good for the girl to believe that something may have happened to her and that Harir had run off in the night."you stay here. I'll be right back. " Sliet instructed before running off in the direction of the building where she and Ashi had spoken the night before, knocking on the door once she'd found it.

Harir nodded, stopping and waiting for her where she left him.
One of Ashi's men appeared at the door when she knocked, opening it slightly against it's chain lock to get a look at who was on the outside. He let it shut and undid the lock before opening it after a quick glance at the visitor, and Ashi, who seemed to be already up, glanced over questioningly. She said nothing but waited for the other to make her point known.

Sliet stepped in out of the cold once the guard opened the door, standing up a little straighter than normal at the sight of Ashi. "I'm leaving for the next settlement now. I'm taking Harir with me, but the four kids are still at the inn. Just thought i should tell you." She explained in a confident tone, holding Ashi's gaze, trying to show that she was certain about her chosen course of action.

Ashi nodded, shrugging. "Don't worry about reporting to me, worry about Otifer" She replied, looking down and going back to what she was doing. However, she was glad the other had reported. It was good to know what was going on with the others in order to make her own decisions. Sliet reporting directly to her saved her having to get the information from her men.

Sliet nodded, repressing a shiver at the thought of the old man. there were very few people she was scared of on their own, and he was one. She would hate to get on his bad side. having done what she had needed to, the dark haired girl turned to leave, returning to the frigid morning air. "There, now we can go." Sliet said once she had reached Harir again, climbing up into the saddle.

"Alright-" Harir replied, climbing up after her and pulling his coat closer against the cold. It was another long day of quiet, riding, but he was worrying and thinking enough to keep himself from getting bored. He felt like an idiot for saying what he had. As much as he cared for Sliet, he hadn't really said anything until last night, he hadn't even admitted how he felt to himself at that point. And she had seemed embarrassed, so he wasn't sure if she felt the same way, but eitherway he felt bad for bringing it up when they were in a place where one of them could so easily be gone any minute.
He contemplated on saying something for the next couple hours, wondering if he should stay silent or try to talk about things, when he noticed a copious amount of billowing, cinder-flecked smoke in the sky above the ridge in front of them.

As they drew close, coming upon some sort of camp, there was the bangs of gunfire peppering the sound of shouting and crackling fire in the afternoon air.
A large trail of muddied bootprints led up to where a large amount of people seemed to be fending off a charge of federation soldiers.

Sliet had used the silence to consider what she would do once she got back, the evwnts of the night before nearly forgotten, but not their implications. It definitely made things more complicated, bus she couldn't honestly say she minded that much. She'd never been one for the more touchy feely stuff, so she wasn't sure how to express her feelings or how to understand them exactly for herself , but she knew that she hadn't wanted to leave him behind either, for whatever reason.

Sliet tensed at the rappid popping of gunfire, looking over the scene before her in alarm. She cursed under her breath, turning so that she could see Harir clearly. "Are you up for this? " she asked, wanting to be sure before rushing in. She wasn't going to drag him along again, even thouh she would probably end up in the thick of it regardless of his answer, she had to let him decide where he would stand in this fight.

Harir was nodding and getting off of the horse before she'd finished her question. "Do you have to ask?" He replied. At this point he'd fallowed her into enough things that he was sort of surprised she'd questioned it. Not that it changed anything. His pistol had already been reloaded, but he doubted it would be hard to find a weapon in the fray regardless.

As they approached it was clear neither side was in good shape. The soldiers had lost formation and those who were on horses were rushing in and urging on soliders, running down settlers and getting attacked in some spots by groups retaliating with farming tools and hunting weapons. Others had taken cover and were firing from behind walls, carts, and other fallen troops.
The settlers who remained and had guns were in similar positions, while any unarmed individuals seemed to be either dead, cowering or hidden away deeper in the camp. A few of those fighting back were the organization's troops, and they seemed to be doing the majority of holding off the military, but very few of them remained able to fight.
Before they could get much closer an order was screamed and many of the federation troops stormed forward into the camp as settlers turned and ran, and the area erupted into chaos.

Sliet felt a warm wave of relief knowing that she wouldn't be going into this alone. Knowing as well as she did how Harir could fare on the battlefield didnt stop her from worrying qbout him though. She supposed that would never change.
As the state of order deteriorated at a word, sliet fell into a ful sprint, drawing her pistol and firing the second she was close enough to hit something. Before she knew it she was right in the middle, ignoring the various smaller injuries she had already sustained, they would be healed soon enough, and taking down as many soldiers as possible. She had been teying to get a good shot at the soldiers on horseback, but she had yet to take any , the sheer number of people around her making it difficult, and the fact that almost all of them were carrying deadly weapons and most of thwm were trying to kill her didn't exactly make it easy either. She hoped that if she could get to them, that the fight would be much easier, and they seemed to be giving the orders.

Harir took a breath, still not really accustomed to leaping into the battlefeild alone and on foot, but tried to steel himself as he ran in after Sliet, keeping his head low. He figured the main goal was to pick off as many of the soldiers as they could; preferably the lieutenants and captains who were leading the army. One weakness of the federation's army was the segregation- it was very easy to cut the head off of the snake by taking out a leader, at which point the ill soldiers would usually disperse quite easily, as most of them were frightened kids with little discipline.
He made it his main priority to pick off any officers while covering Sliet.
He watched with worry as the charge seemed to swamp the settlers and run them down, into the buildings and small alleyways formed by the cluttered supplies.

Sliet continued to fight her way through the soldiers, losing count of how many shed taken down. She looked over her shoulder to check on Harir, firing over her shoulder and hitting a girl that had been aiming at him from behind. Quickly turning back to the soldiers directly in front of her, she noticed one of the horses nearby. If she could get to whoever was on the horse, it was definitely possible she could end this faster. She started fighting her way towards the animal with renewed determination, coming up from behind so the rider wouldn't see her as she made quick work of the strap holding their saddle on. Spooking the horse away with a touch, transferring images of predators, the animal bolted, leaving the saddle and the rider on it behind.

(Okie so flashback thing)

The mess tent they had set up had served as good shelter and kept most of the cold out and off of the officers, at least until the training camp was torn down and they moved on. At the moment, it was filled and too loud for Josephe. He had given up picking at his food for the moment and was examining his ration of water with a disdainful look on his tired face. He wanted nothing more than to get out, though that would show disrespect towards the higher ups. The last thing he needed was to be questioned or demoted over bad form when he was already noticing his body and mind starting to decline in acuity and was worried enough over what that would mean for his position.
He didn't really look at those around him, but took in his surroundings. There was the new captain, next to him, and Anderson, across the table and still for once as he focused his efforts on eating.
The young brunet was grinning and talking to another next to him about something not fit for dinner. He seemed to act as if he was thriving in the social enviroment while failing to notice that most around him didn't want to be there.

The lieutenants were seated at another table; Marcel, the youngest and still in training, had wolfed down his food and seemed to be bothering Harir with energetic speech, while the slightly older man nodded absently, looking frustrated and subtly trying to inch his chair away from the curly haired boy.

Sliet took her time eating, observing those around her curiously, taking i bits of conversations but remaining silent herself. she still felt on edge here, though she didn't let it show, and she still watched the behavior of the others and adjusted hers to match for the most part. She still felt surrounded though, and the gloomy atmosphere at the captains table wasn't helping. She looked over to the man next to her with an apraising look, weighing the odds of ^hings going badly if she tried to strike up a conversation. "You can glare at that water all you like, but i don't think it cares at all." She said, trying to keep her tone indifferent.

Josephe looked up at the other in question as she commented on his water. He debated on replying or just ignoring her. "Excuse me?" He asked, rather confused, but at the same time, uncaring of what she meant. He didn't bother speaking much to the other officers unless it was formally required, and Anderson was enough for him at the best of times.

Josephe looked a little bewildered. He'd noticed Leloup acting odd before, but conversation about how one was feeling certainly wasn't something that came up in this kind of setting or with these kind of people. He wasn't quite sure how to answer that question. At the present moment? In general? He wasn't even certain he wanted to think about it. "I... am not unwell, if that's what you mean." He wondered with worry if she was analyzing his state of being and straightened in his chair a little. "I meant no disrespect...I..." He paused and raised an eyebrow as she put her elbow on the table and leaned on her hand.

Anderson spoke up, looking across at the two. "Calm down, Dumont, she's not here to tell you you're unfit for duty. She wants to hear about your feelings." He said in a mockingly sweet tone, before looking at Sliet, waving a peice of food around on his fork as he spoke. "He's just bitter as piss, doesn't want to be here, too good for us, eh Dumont?" He muttered, only to be ignored.

Sliet looked between the two, uncertainly. She had enough trouble socializing with people she knew well, and these two definitely weren't making it easy. "I-I see. Sorry for bothering you then" she stuttered, turning back to her food almost hastily. She was rapidly deciding that she didn't want to be here either.
