Sliet wasn't overly surprised at the news. She had been expecting it, though she'd been hoping it wouldn't happen before they got to the Colony. " which we don't have." she said softly, looking away for a moment. When she turned back to Pel, her expression was cool and determined. "meaning we have to get there soon. i'll do what i can in the meantime if you would like, assuming he'll let me of course." she assured her, glancing over at the boy.

Pel looked at the other gratefully; she wasn't all that used to people being compassionate about the illness. She wasn't expecting the other to be insensitive about it; Sliet seemed to care about the group a lot, but it was good to have someone who listened about it. "I don't think he wouldn't; he trusts you." Pel replied honestly. She just wanted her friend to be okay.

Sliet gave a small smile at her response, though she was pretty sure that if Raven thought it was inconveniencing anyone in any way, he would protest at the very least. And even if he let her, it was as she'd already said. There wasn't much she could do anyway. "I like to think so." she said softly, feeling rather honoured before she realized something, Looking at Pel suspiciously. "You're not really tired... are you." It wasn't a question.

Pel shook her head after a moment of hesitation. "No... not really. Everyone else does seem pretty tired though." She added. She wasn't sorry. She didn't want to set them back, but she cared more about her friend than getting there a couple hours earlier.

Pel blinked at the other in surprise. A little confused that she'd taken it personally. "Y-yeah. I'm sorry. He just wouldn't have said anything... and I didn't want to get the others angry at him." She explained.

When they headed back to the fire, she moved over to sit next to her friend.

Sliet nodded and watched Pel return to the group, waiting a moment before following. She sat next to Harir quietly, enjoying the warmth from the fire. Her gaze shifted from the flames to Raven occasionally, wondering how to ask him about his illness in the most polite way possible. Eventually she gave up on her social skills, looking up as if to try to find answers in what was left of the clouds. her eyes widened and she let out a small gasp at what she found instead. Millions of stars, like tiny specs of silver dotted the darkening sky.

Harir looked up as Sliet came to sit by him, smiling in greeting. He leaned into her a little, and looked up at the sky as she gasped. He blinked quietly at the startlingly bright stars. It was beautiful, and it wasn't even completely dark yet; a pale mauve still colored the edges of the sky and there was still some dying, faded light tinging things purple. "Whoa." He murmured. "It's so bright."

Raven eventually lay down in his thermal blanket where he and pel had settled down, feeling sleepy after all the walking.  The warmth wasn't helping, and besides that, he'd been feeling exhausted and achingly sore the last couple hours.  He felt safe enough being with Pel, but he tried to stay awake; not wanting to be rude.
He didn't last long enough to see the stars, loosing consciousness after a couple minutes of curling up side the other, his breathing slowing down as he slipped into sleep.

Ashi stayed between Pel and Sliet, watching the stars with the rest of the group in silent awe.

Anderson sat off a little ways, away from the others enough to be able to keep to himself, but he wasn't ignoring the sky. He stared up at it, thinking quietly. Earth, the Sun, was somewhere up there. It felt so far away now, everything did.

Sliet stared up at the stars wordlessly, eventually laying down, her own blanket forgotten. She Gazed at the tiny specs of light for a long time before starting to notice how cool it was getting. The cold wouldn't hurt her at all, but it could the others. Looking over, she scootched closer to Harir quietly.

Harir smiled a little, still awake and blinking through tired eyes as Sliet nestled closer. He tilted his head a little to lean into her and went quiet. Everything felt so wonderful, just laying her under the stars with the other, with nothing to be afraid of. He closed his eyes after a few moments, allowing himself to sleep.

When he opened his eyes, the stars were brighter than ever, but still very present in the sky. He felt disoriented, sitting up slowly, he felt the chilly air bite his skin and shrunk back down for a moment, not wanting to leave Sliet or the warmth. It had been hours, he could feel it, a slight stiffness from all the walking and resting, but he felt like he'd slept.

Raven woke and blinked in discomfort, bringing his knees up a little as he felt burning and sharp pangs spreading through his stomach. Laying still, he tried to close his eyes again; tensing and balling his fists, waiting for it to pass, but it didn't. He didn't move except for slight shifts as he tried to lessen the pain, unable to sleep. He blinked in the star light as he heard another stir, but hesitated to get up.

Pel, nestled to Raven as she woke, drowsily sat up, glancing at her friend, then at the others before absently scratching at her hair and getting to her feet, slipping them back into her shoes. She patted Raven's shoulder, watching him quietly for a moment.

Anderson slept awkwardly on the ground, his thermal pulled over him and tangled around his legs as he shifted uneasily, making little grumbling noises in his sleep.

Ashi had balled up next to Sliet in the night, and was still snoring softly as the other's woke up. She was still exhausted from the crash, and made no attempt to wake up as she heard the others move around near her.

SKIP?

Pel ran her hand through Raven's hair as he laid still, his head resting on her stomach.
He'd gone quiet, finally asleep despite his agony. his eyelids fluttered slightly. She sat quietly, her back against the rocky wall as she breathed in the freezing air. She glanced at the sleeping others, and watched a pale light creep along the horizon, blinking sleepily as she realized the sun was rising.
She hadn't slept that night, she was too scared to.
Gently, she touched her friend's arm. "Raven, it's morning," She whispered. She felt bad to wake him now, but he'd wanted to see the sunrise. "Wake up," She added softly as he stirred after a moment. She watched him blink glassy eyes open, and tried to help him sit up. He was so cold.
She held him against her side, her arm around his back.
She felt a pang of worry as he lolled forward for a second before she caught him. "Hey, I've got you... can you hear me?.. Raven?"
He nodded a little, his voice tired and broken as he spoke. "Y-yeah."
"Just a few more miles today. We're almost there." She tried to smile at him, squeezing his arm.
He remained in silence. She felt his chest rise and fall once.
"...look at the sky. that's amazing, huh?"
Pel swallowed as the other didn't respond.
"Raven?"
"I-I'm here." The boy voiced softly.
"Just... hold on a little longer, okay?... does it hurt?" She asked, shifting and starting to get up. They had to get moving. She didn't care if the others got angry for being woken up. He shook his head weakly as she rested him down and stood up, gathering their things as quickly as she could. She glanced over at the others to see if any of them were awake.

Raven blinked drowsily where he lay, watching the sky change. He felt like he was made out of cold stone, and he couldn't feel his hands to toes. His head swam, but his thoughts were strangely clear even with the pain.
He watched Pel quietly, wanting to help, but not having the strength to even sit up at this point. The sky really was beautiful.

Sliet opened her eyes blearily, at the noise, rather reluctant to wake up. She got to her feet slowly, packing up her own things in a daze. She knew they had to get going, but that didn't stop her being tired. she'd spent a couple of their little breaks trying not to sleep herself, and that combined with the cold and all the walking was finally getting to her.

Harir blinked up at sliet as the other started to wake and move around, then slowly got up himself, noting the sunrise. He quickly gathered up his things and passed Sliet, giving her arm a gentle pat. She looked exhausted. "Are you okay?"

Anderson got to his feet, shivering in his coat, and stepping forward into the sunlight as it flooded the hill with golden light. He stood still for a second, watching before turning around to pick up his share of the baggage.

Pel, once everyone had started to get together, headed over to Raven. The boy had managed to sit and pack most of his things, trembling from the cold as he did. After a few awkward moments Pel was able to get him standing, supporting her friend with her arm around his back. he was making an effort, though was visibly hindered and exhausted.

Sliet looked up at Harir, offering a small smile. She didn't want him to worry. She would have taken the energy from that navigation device of pel's, but that thing was still quite necessary. "I'll be fine when we get there." She told him, not completely certain of it herself. the warmth of the sun would definitely help after a time, but they still had no idea what they would find when they got there. The man from a few days ago had been nice enough, but she wasn't about to assume the rest were like that. Not yet. When Pel helped Raven up, she moved to the other side of the boy, trying to support him as best she could, mirroring the younger girls movements.

Raven glanced up at Sliet with greatful eyes as she went to help him walk. Pel was strong but he could barely hold his own weight up; he felt terrible for how much of a burden he was being. "Thank you, Sliet." He said softly, trying to force himself to put a little more effort into walking.

Harir nodded quietly as she went over to the two kids, going to walk beside them. He continued glancing at them with a look of worry on his face, finally speaking up. "Sliet, can't you contract the illness?" She didn't seem to have any issues with getting close to the kid, despite the fact he was hacking up blood and obviously late in the illness; that was when it was most prone to mutation.

Sliet nodded to the boy, giving him a worried look before returning her focus to walking. She looked up at Harir somewhat confused at the question. "I can, but the Tech filters it out of my system before it can do any harm." She explained simply. "Even then, it would have to mutate, and that's really uncommon." she finished, not overly invested in the conversation.

Post by Deathcap Thu Dec 10, 2015 9:52 pm

Harir nodded uncertainly. It wasn't that he didn't feel bad, but he was worried for the others, they'd all been to close for comfort to the boy. If it did mutate from him, then the new strain would spread like wildfire and there would be no vaccine around. He caught Pel giving him a hateful look over their shoulders and didn't say anything further.

Anderson walked at the back, not really saying anything and keeping an eye out for the colony, but all there seemed to be were rocks and rolling hills of gold and green. He was a bit slower because of his leg, but the others were taking longer today anyway because of the boy.

Ashi kept ahead, tiring of walking slow for the others, and walked quite a ways up, trying to find any hit of the Colony. It had to be here, right? There had been that man. She felt uncertainty stir in her chest all the same.

After a while, Raven felt his head spinning from the pain, and struggling to keep walking, he blacked out for a moment. Pel grunted in alarm and tried to support the other as he slumped limp against her. He wasn't overly heavy, but it was awkward. She felt a pang of worry before he seemed to come to and managed to get his feet under him, only to shudder and stumble again.

Sliet stumbled a bit at the sudden weight when the boy passed out , unable to suppress a surprised squeak. She looked at him in worry once she'd regained her balance "C'mon kid. Were almost there." she muttered before turning to look in Ashi's direction. "See anything!?" she asked, starting to feel somewhat desperate.

Ashi turned at Sliet's call, cupping her hands around her mouth and yelling back. "I don't see anything!" I'm going to try and get to higher ground!" With that, the dark haired girl turned and headed for the wide hill before them. It was golden in the morning sunlight, stretching across the horizon. It took her longer to get to the top then she thought it would, and as she crested the hill, she disappeared over the top, the cool wind nearly blowing her off of her feet.

Raven tried to nod. He felt just about ready to give up. He wasn't sure if there was even going to be anything to help at the colony, and as much as he wanted to make it, it hurt, and he was making things harder for the others. He glanced at Pel quietly, wondering what he would say to her, or even Sliet, if they didn't make it to the city, and decided to push on a bit longer.

Ashi returned over the top of the hill for a moment, waving her arms. "Sliet! It's there, come on!" With that, the girl was gone again.

Pel felt hope soar, wanting to run forward, but held back, staying by the others' side as they climbed the hill. It was a steep climb, especially with Raven, and when they reached the flat top of the hill, she looked down over the land that dipped down, stretching out forever. There was a massive, white ship resting on the ground, and towering upward, much larger than anything at the station. Around it were several smaller ships, yet still more massive than what they'd arrived on, spread out over what had to be several kilometers. There were camps and buildings set up all around the vessels. Below them, there were several peopleheaded their way.

Sliet almost stopped when Ashi came back, rather surprised. it was right there. She stared in awe as they reached the top of the hill. It was incredible. She almost didn't notice the people headed towards them with everything else. She took a more defensive position, still trying to support Raven with one arm.

Pel watched Sliet as the other seemed to tense up a little. Were these people dangerous? She didn't understand, but decided to keep her guard up as well.

It was a while before the others met up with them, near the first areas of cultivated land. A woman was at the front, leading a few uniformed people and what looked to be a couple medical personnel. They were all on foot, and Ashi was a little bit in front of them. "Hello there!? Are you the crew of the supply ship?" She asked hurriedly, slowing down as they reached the roughed up looking group. "Welcome to Flora,"

Another stepped forward, glancing over them and looking hesitant. "We have medics here, if any of you were injured in the crash." They said quickly. "Theres a first aid station for the other refugees set up down near the base of our first carrier-"

Sliet watched the people somewhat warily, giving the first person an apprehensive nod. She watched the second person come forward, resisting the urge to take a step back. first carrier? which one was the first? which ones were carriers for that matter, all of the ships here were so huge, she'd never seen anything quite like them.

Those from the colony seemed just as uncertain as the new-comers as they approached them, trying to help and ask questions, and speaking among themselves as well, trying to figure out the situation.

Alex approached a little bit after, without his dogs for once, brightening as he saw Sliet, and picking up his pace, running up to them. "Sliet! W-what happened?" He asked, a mix of horror and relief on his face. He'd been thrown into the situation at the station with barely any warning or context, and getting here and realizing the other two ships weren't coming had been terrifying. He'd been here trying to explain everything to the Colony, but he knew little more than them.

Pel shifted to take Raven's weight, so that Sliet could let go and talk to the other. "I've got him," She added quietly. She wasn't sure what to think of these people or if she should even trust them.

Alex returned the hug, just glad to see her again before stepping back. "I'm fine. We landed as planned. What about you?.. and Ashi...You all look hurt," He replied, glancing at her and the group behind her. He suspected she would have healed the others, but they didn't look to be at their best either. "Where's Kathrine and Otifer?" He noticed Ashi not approaching, but refusing to look up as she walked past him and back with the group.
