Harir hesitated, not wanting to just sit there and get wet, but there didn't seem to be a lot of cover around, just the rocky spires and lumps spread out over the fields.

The little droplets of rain quickly gave way to gushing water with a booming crack of of noise and flash of light across the sky.

Raven stood up, jumping at the loud noise and folding his arms around himself while the train flattened his hair down into his eyes, and Pel picked herself up as well while the grass started to saturate with water.

Ashi screamed out of her sleep at the crash of thunder, getting quickly to her feet and looking around with panic and annoyance that no one had woken her up.

Anderson sniffed in displeasure as he became thoroughly soaked.

Sliet jumped back at the loud noise, eyes wide in panic. It took her a moment to steady herself enough to get to her feet, squinting her eyes as she looked around in an attempt to keep the rain from running into her eyes. "Maybe we should keep moving! Find some shelter!" she called to the others, wrapping her arms aroud herself.

"Where even should we go? I just don't want to get struck by lightning-" Harir spoke up over the heavy rain, staying beside Sliet as the others hurried over.

Raven pulled his jacket off to hold over his, Pel's and Ashi's heads as the three of them huddled together awkwardly, hurrying over. "Maybe we can fine an out cropping to go under near one of those spires-" Pel suggested

Anderson walked up to them calmly, not bothered, just looking displeased. That was, until he felt his boots soaking, and looked down to see the water already up to his ankles. He made a face. It was flash flooding. How high was it going to get? He took Pel's advice and started heading for one of the spires.

The others hesitated before fallowing after the man, but the water only kept rising, pushing fast against their legs.

Pel slipped and cried out in alarm as the current tugged at her legs, and she fell into the already knee deep water, coughing and sputtering as it filled her throat. Raven sprung forward and grabbed her in his arms, slipping and nearly falling in himself as he helped her up "Whoa, Hold on-" He muttered, fighting to stay on his feet.
Ashi suddenly felt very afraid, clinging to both of them and feeling alienated by the water all around her.

Harir reached out to hold onto Sliet, worried she was going to be swept away. He wasn't sure how to swim, and felt rising panic as the water raised.

Sliet paused before following after Anderson, seeing no better option. She reached out to grab onto the back of Ashi's shirt with one hand, careful not to pull herself free of Harir's grip in the motion. This was bad. This was very very bad. She knew for a fact that she couldn't swim, at least, not well enough to keep herself afloat for very long. She wasn't sure about everyone else, but it was doubtful they could either. She started up the hill again, more slowly and carefuly this time, gently trying to pull Harir and Ashi along with her.

Anderson turned, once safely on the rocky base of the hill, reaching down to Sliet to help her up.

Harir fallowed up after Sliet, his face rather horrified as he made it out of the rough water. "You alr-okay?" He asked Sliet.

As soon as Raven's feet touched solid ground, he pushed on harder, dragging himself and Pel up onto the ridge. The two scrambled up a bit higher, then stopped to wait for the others. There was little shelter, the rocks didn't form any real out-croppings, and the foliage was scant.

Ashi reached out to help Sliet as the other grabbed onto her, reaching to hold her arm. Once on land, she laid flat on her back, breathing quickly and slightly panicked.

Sliet stumbled up onto the rocky surface as Anderson helped her up, looking around fearfully. "I'm fine." She replied uneasily, the rain making her hair cling to her face and flattened it to her head, making her look relatively smaller than usual. She glanced around one more time, doing a quick headcount, before slumping down to sit of the rocky ground, the adrenaline finding its way out of her system.

Harir moved over to stand by Sliet, eventually sitting next to her. It was still pouring hard, though there wasn't much they could do about it, so he just put his head down and stayed there.

Ashi want to the other side of Sliet, still slightly horrified by the water. She huddled down at the other's side.

Anderson stayed a little bit above them on the rocks, pulling his knees to his chest with a sigh.

Raven stayed standing nearby, he and Pel were both drenched, but at least it wasn't cold. He looked around at the rain for a minute before opening his mouth slightly and catching some of it on his tongue. He was sort of surprised at the lack of a grimy taste. It was so clean.
"What're you doing?" Pel questioned.
"Catching water- taste it," He replied, standing a little bit on his tip toes and trying it again. "Niehhh"
"You're a dork," She muttered, shoving him a little and knocking him off balance. He stumbled before nudging her back, laughing.

Everything turned white as lightning flashed through the sky, and a screaming boom of thunder seemed to drown out everything else.

In sudden panic, Pel took Raven to the ground with an arm around his back, and they both flattened themselves, looking frightened before breaking into more laughter.

Sliet jumped again at the thunder and lightning, moving over up against Harir. Not that she was really scared, but the loud noises were really freaking her out. besides, she could never tell when anyone else was cold or when she really should be, her tech keeping her warm most of the time, so it might be a good idea to try to keep him warm anyway.

Harir looked at Sliet in surprise, holding back a laugh. He didn't think that she of all people would be scared of lightning. He leaned into her though, resting his head against hers and shifting to hold her closer as the rain continued on.

When it stopped raining, the clouds hung low for a while, the sky remaining grey, and the water still covering the planes.

Everyone looked exhausted, and they were stranded on top of that, so Pel took the opportunity to sleep, pulling one of the blankets from her pack free to lay on it. She went down to minimal clothing, setting her sopping clothes aside and getting quickly into the blanket, not really bashful in the slightest, but rather uncomfortable about certain members of their company. She nestled into the warmth and started to drift to sleep as the others around her settled in.

When raven started to wake up, blinking, he noticed a slight, cool weight on his cheek. Reaching up carefully, he touched the thing, feeling what felt like Jello. He pulled a little, and looked at his hand as a bright purple lump of transparent goo rolled into his palm. He looked on in awe as it seemed to push out tiny legs and roll around before crawling up his arm.
His arm.
It was covered in more little lumps, all sizes and shapes and colors, clinging to his skin as he sat up, and the rest of his body. They were everywhere.

Sliet nuzzled into Harir's shoulder, getting as comfortable as she could with the rain. She had nearly fallen asleep by the time i had stopped. She reached over to pull a blanket from her own pack. wrapping it around herself and flopping down onto the rocky ground, soon falling into a restless sleep.

She woke to a feeling like a fly sitting on her hand, moving it tiredly to try and get rid of whatever it was, but not opening her eyes.

Raven got to his feet and looked around at the others, they were all covered in the colorful little blobs. He didn't know what they were, but there were moving and seemed pretty harmless. He laughed a little, waking pel up awkwardly. "H-Hey, look, don't freak out." He said softly.

Pel blinked up at him, not understanding before noticing the colorful patches all over her friend, and looking at herself. "W-What?"
One moved and she let out a shout of panic, leaping up and dislodging them from herself as quickly as she could. "What are these- Augh! Gross!"

Anderson and Harir both got up a little uncertainly. Harir was absent of any of the things, but looked at the others in confusion.
Anderson froze and paled.

As they walked, Raven amused himself with the little globs. He'd rearranged them to sit on his head and shoulders but they didn't stay in one place long. He held back an awkward laugh as one made it's way up under his shirt, struggling to walk normally as it crept up his stomach and chest, finally popping out of his collar.
He glanced up to Pel glaring at him, and shrugged. She opened her mouth to speak but froze as she noticed someone walked towards them, off a little ways. "Look-" She started, feeling initially worried. "Sliet,"

The form was male in appearance, he was loading with packs and supplies, and seemed to be trying to get their attention, waving now. He had dark, longish hair and a scruffy face, but looked relatively friendly as he approached.

Sliet jumped awake when Pel shouted, stumbling to her feet and almost falling over as her feet got tangled in her blanket. She looked around in a panic, searching for whatever was wrong before she noticed the orange blob on her hand, quickly shaking it off.

She walked in silence, looking back at Raven occasionally, still a little paranoid that the blobs could be toxic or harmful in some way.she had already noticed the man before pel pointed him out, eyeing him warily she still had no idea what to expect of the people here, and there was still a little voice at the back of her mind saying that it was possible that this place is just as bad off as earth was, with the exception of the ruined environment. He didn't look too harmful, but she still wasn't sure.

The man approached them, slowing a little as he watched them turn and eye him warily. "Hello there! I saw you all walking, looking tired, and thought I'd say hi. My name is Charles." He announced happily. "I noticed you all look kind of roughed up- are you all okay? Lost or something?" He rambled a little, glancing at the others with concern and confusion.

Sliet relaxed a bit as the man spoke. He seemed genuine enough. "I guess you could say that" she responded vaguely, crossing her arms, still a little on edge. She wasn't sure what all she wanted to tell this man. She could probably ask him for directions, but even if she did, they had no idea where exactly they were asking for directions to.

Charles trustingly made his way up to the group. He wasn't very large, more lanky than anything. His clothes odd and covered in pockets. "What're you all looking for out here? I might be able to help. I'm out here checking sediments and minerals in the basin here. I haven't been far from the basin, but if you want your way back to the city or something, I got a DM right here." He patted his pocket, still eyeing the odd looking group quietly. They all looked sort of on edge and hungry. He didn't have much to spare with him though. He'd been eating pods for weeks.

Anderson tensed as the other got still closer. They didn't know if this man was some kind of bandit- though he doubted that they would have much trouble with him if he tried anything.

Raven felt like he was bursting with excitment, even as he stood still and quiet. Another person on flora! And they were some kind of scientist! The meant what whatever they were heading towards was still here, and they weren't just farming or barely scraping by. They were advanced enough to have people out here with maps studying the area. He had clothes on that looked relatively new, as well, a sign they were producing. And the fact that there was a whole city! He couldn't wait now to see the place himself.

Harir relaxed a bit, not overly worried about the newcomer. He seemed calm and innocent enough, if a bit dirty.

Pel watched the other curiously. He didn't seem dangerous, at least. She did indeed want to ask for directions- it would be good to have some comfirmation about where they were.

Sliet wated the man with a mix of curiosity and confusion.sediments and minerals meant dirt right? So... he was checking the dirt? And what was a DM? "Directioms back to the city would be great. Thank you very much." She told Charles, trying for a smile though it came out small and awkward.

The man gave a nod, stepping forward and rummaging through his pack.
He pulled up a small device, rolling the dial on it and activating it.
A pale image of the surrounding area was projected into the air. There was a tiny bright arrow on the part where they were standing, and a compass rose moving as he shifted, holding it out to Sliet, as if it was understood that she would know how to use it. "If you head straight it should only take you tonight, maybe a bit of the morning. Right up there." He said, messing with something and zooming out to encompass another dot on the edge of the map; the city.
Between them and the city, the basin raised up to a normal ground level, changing into a span of a rocky landscape and some kind of dense foliage.
"So, fellow researches? or just out exploring?" He asked. "No offense, but you seem like you've had a rough go of it."

Sliet stepped back in surprise as the image appeared, looking at it curiously as the image changed. She nodded at Charles's instructions, unsure of what to say when he offered her the device, simply looking at it in confusion. She had no idea what to do with it if she took it. She stifled a bitter laugh as he spoke again. He had no idea. "You're not wrong" she muttered to herself before looking back to Charles. "None taken."

When she was done, he closed the device, fitting it back into his pocket. For the first time he looked a little suspicious when she didn't elaborate. It seemed to occur to him then that these people might not be well intentioned.
"Well, I should get back to work- I've got a lot of ground to cover. It was nice seeing someone else out here. Good luck getting back to Flora!" He bid them goodbye over his shoulder, heading back into the green of the fields.

When the man had gotten out of hearing range, Raven voiced his excitment. "Did you hear that? He's a scientist- that means there's higher level education and a functioning society- the original colony is still there." He spoke up happily.

Sliet waved goodbye to the man awkwardly as he walked away. She had no idea how to feel about that encounter, only taking from the conversation that they were going the right way. She turned to Raven when he spoke, smiling at the boys excitement. "That it does." She said brightly, reaching over to lightly ruffle his hair.

Raven blinked as his hair was ruffled, hesitating before fallowing after them, still carrying the colorful lumps while they walked.

As the ground level started to raise beneath their feet, foliage appeared, growing in clumps and even covering pocketed areas. After several hours, the sun finally hung low in the sky, dipping beneath the horizon and painting the sky a velvety blue. The stars started to glow back into sight, only faint in the twilight.

Pel noticed Raven at the back of the group, keeping up but looking pained. She dropped back to walk next to him. His face was pale, and he was slightly hunched over, taking small steps and keeping his arms around his middle.
"Hey, you okay?" She whispered. It was obvious he was trying to be discreet about whatever was hindering him.
He nodded, smiling at her. "Yeah, my stomach just h-hurts." He replied quietly.
"Are you hungry? Or.. is it bothering you again?" Pel inquired, feeling worried for her friend and placing her hand on his back.
"O-oh, I'm not hungry, I'm fine, p-probably just a cramp from all the walking or something." He shrugged, not wanting to make a deal out of it.
Pel looked at him skeptically. She walked alongside him for a bit, until she'd had enough of his awkward, pained walking.
She sat down on the spot, yawning loudly. "Can we stop? I'm really exhausted." She grumbled to the group. "Ashi looks tired too."
Raven glanced at her. "Pel- you don't-" He muttered, breaking off and feeling embarrassed. He knew exactly why she was sitting down, the little shit. He was fine.

Ashi glanced back; she was indeed tired, though not enough to really need to stop, she hesitated at the request. "Right now? shouldn't we keep walking while there's light?"

Anderson, who'd been winded for the last hour, laid down again, just crumpling onto the ground without a second thought. Maybe if enough people were tired they could stop. His legs ached. Not like it would be safe to whine around the two murderous teenage girls.

Sliet stopped when Pel yawned, turning to look at the girl skeptically. out of all of them, she did not expect Pel to be the first to complain about fatigue. She was about to side with Ashi when Anderson collapsed, sighing heavily. "The light that's left should give us time to set up a bit of a camp." She told Ashi after a moment, setting her own pack down. she looked around a bit, looking for anything that might be better shelter or something that could be edible before giving up, finding nothing.

Pel and Raven rolled out the group's packs and blankets on the rocky ground, while Anderson set his own down a little ways from them, curling up with his back turned to them and laying still pretty immediately.

Harir walked around, gathering anything that looked burnable to start a fire.
He pushed together rocks and started attempting to light the tinder. When the flame started, it seemed to burn incredibly brightly, giving off a nice heat in the windless night.

Ashi, grumbling for a bit, got out her own things and began drinking a shake ration quietly, sitting near to the fire and taking in the warmth.

Pel got up and wandered over to Sliet while the other was alone and looking for shelter. She hesitated a bit before speaking up. "Sliet, is there any way for us to do something about someone who has the illness?" She questioned, curious. She doubted it, from what she'd learned, but it was worth asking about.

Sliet looked at Pel curiously at the girls question, considering it for a moment. "Certain symptoms, but they usually come back pretty quick. We can only help with pain management for the most part, but they should have something here for it. " She explained shaking her head sadly, before looking at Pel with concern. "why do you ask?"

Pel hesited, not sure how mad her friend would be if she told the other he was getting sick again. She knew he didn't like being the center of attention, but she didn't want him to get worse because he wouldn't tell anyone or accept help. "I'm just worried about Raven. He's feeling badly again, and he hasn't exactly been keeping his strength up lately." She replied. "If his illness is acting up again he needs medicine." She added. Elinore had always been supplied before, so whenever he'd gone through a point where his health started deteriorating, she'd been able to bring him out of it with medication and lots of sleep. They didn't have either of those options now.
