The boy blinked as she asked him if he could keep a secret, a weird look on her face. He didn't really understand. Why would she trust him with or ask him to keep a secret? And what was this all about? Not sure what the answer would mean, and still rather frightened of the individual, he wasn't sure how to reply. He coughed a little, shifting in pain and finally nodded, just wanting to get this over with. "Y-yeah."

"Good." She said, turning to the injury, pushing his hand out of the way so she could get to it. "Because i think you might be right." She added, before starting her work, numbing his side and starting to heal the wound, feeling it slowly start to close beneath her fingers.

August struggled on instinct when she moved his hand, but tried to calm down, remembering that she said she was going to help him. He took short breaths and tried to just lay there, letting her do whatever she was going to. As the pain ebbed away his body relaxed and he went quiet, his breath evening out. After a few seconds, he'd lost consciousness.

Harir waited inside patiently, not sure what Sliet was up to. He held a gun, just encase, but doubted he would need it. Both the girl and the boy who was in shock seemed to be gradually coming around as the first tried to simultaneously rouse and calm them.

Sliet withdrew her hands when she had finished, looking up at August to make sure he was okay. She panicked when she found him unconsious, reaching up to check his pulse and listening for his breathing. She relaxed, leaning back, assured he was alive. She reached down and grabbed his wrist, pulling it up over her shoulder and lifting him up, wrapping her other hand around his waist to keep him upright. She took a step towards the house, nearly collapsing. She hadn't realized how tired she was until now, and that had taken a lot more oit of her than she had expected. She stopped, trying to regain her balance for a second, before staggering over to the door. She paused when she reached it, unsure of how she would knock when she was using both hands to hold the soldier up. It only deterred her for a moment though as she quickly kicked the door lightly to get Harir's atention.

Harir jumped as the door moved behind him before stepping back and opening it quickly for Sliet, glancing at her tired form worriedly as he waited for her to enter. He was curious about the boy, but doubted Sliet had hurt him to get answers, and was more worried for is companion at the moment.
The first boy jumped up to his feet, seeing the other unconscious in her hold and becoming rather animated. "What did you do to him?" He demanded a little too loudly, and Harir turned towards the other encase he had to stop the kid from doing something stupid.

Sliet cringed at the accusation, nearly falling again. "I didn't hurt him, I promise. "She assured, stumbling forward a few more steps and gently laying the boy on the ground. Finnishhed she shuffled back, grabbing onto Harir's sleeve, and pulling him out the door, closing it behind them. "Come on." She grumbled . "Youre ridingnin front this time.

Harir fallowed her out as they left the kids behind. "A-alright, of course-" He replied, a little shocked. Scared she would take it as him thinking she was weak if he tried to help her walk, he just stayed close encase she needed the support. He got up onto the animal quickly and reached down to help Sliet up. She was visibly exhausted and he was worried. Had she been shot and hadn't said anything? Or had it been from the fighting in general. "Just rest. I'll wake you up if there's any danger." He told her softly, trying to meet her eyes and make sure she was okay.

Sliet took hisnhand as he helped her up. She nodded wnen he told her to rest , more than happy to follow someone else's orders for the time being instead of giving them. She yawned hugely, resting her head comfortably on his shoulder. His coat was rough under her cheek, and still smelled strongly of blood, but it didn't stop her from falling asleep almost instantly.

Harir road carefully in the direction they'd been heading. Not that he really knew exactly. where they were going in the first place. He carried on for several hours, keeping a look out for any sign of others. He figured they'd made their way out of the Federation's path but was still relatively wary. As the sun started to fall in the west again, there was no shelter anywhere besides a few dead bramble clusters and a ridge that might keep some of the wind off their backs. He headed for a ridge, urging the horse along carefully. "Sliet?" He asked. He wasn't sure if she'd woken up yet or not.

Sliet shifted against his back tiredly. She had been more or less awake for an hour or so, but she was reluctant to move away from her comfy position. "Yes?" She asked, voice muffled slightly h his coat.

Harir felt a little relief at her answer; at least if she was speaking and awake after this long, maybe she was better off than he'd thought. "It's getting dark, there's not much out here for shelter, just this ridge; it'll at least keep us out of sight. If you want to rest I'll look for some firewood." He offered, making sure she was steady before climbing down. There was nothing to really tie the horse to, but it seemed to be pretty glued to Sliet, so he doubted it would wander off.
It might be able to browse and find some edible grass. The poor animal was probably starving. While they hadn't really eaten either- they hadn't done much besides letting the horse carry them without a real break. Hopefully at the next settlement they could do something about food.
He took his knife and worked at the brambles, trying to get some worthwhile wood without pricking his hands to much, but at this point he was past caring.

Sliet climbed down after him with a yawn, no longer exhausted but still a little tired. As he walked away, she turned, making quick work of the staps holding the saddle on and easing it to the ground, rubbing the horses back where it had been. Once that was done, she moved to his head, slipping the bridle off and easing the bit out of his mouth. The horse shook his head at the strange feeling , nudging sliets shoulder. She giggled quietly, scratching between his eyes. "Go get a something to eat, okay boy?" She ordered, watching him turn to wander off, confident he wouldn't go far. Once he had left, she turned to the packs, rummaging through to find the bandages.

Harir, after about half an hour of gathering as much wood and kindling as he could find, stumbled back down the ridge and set the thorny stuff down on a patch of dead, frozen grass.
He took out the flint and steel and worked at lighting it. It wasn't easy with his hands being so numb, but he finally got it and puffed life into the tiny flame before sitting back. He rested for a moment before deciding it would be a good idea to melt some snow for drinking water. But then, they had no pots.
"We need to kill something to eat." He stated bluntly, too tired to be tactful about it, before flopping over.

Sliet sat down beside the fire absently. " What are we killing and what are we killing it with? " She asked without looking up at him. She couldn't remember seeing any animals around, but shed also been asleep for most of the day.

"I don't know..." He muttered. "That bramble over there looks good. Maybe some snow. Or I know- my hopes and dreams. They're already dead so it'll save us the work." He added sarcastically. He wasn't angry at Sliet, in fact, he was worried. He was just... tired. He blinked at the fire for a few long minutes before glancing at her from where he lay. "Are you okay, after today?" He asked.

Sliet laughed dryly. "Sounds like you could use some sleep." She commented jokingly, returning to watching the flames . She looked over at him when he asked her if she was okay. "Umm , yeah, i think. Healing that kid just took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, that's all. "She assured him. "What about you? How are those scratches? "

Harir sat up a bit, nodding and feeling somewhat relieved that it was just exhaustion. "I'm alright." He replied, starring at the ground for a while. "I...I was just worried- about you. Is that wrong?" He asked hesitantly, sort of wondering if he was asking himself the same question. They shouldn't be on good terms, given that he had sworn loyalty to the Federation, and that he should have killed her that night on the bridge when it had been apparent she was deserting. At the same time, he was scared for her and felt protective, even if she was his captain and was more than capable of looking after herself. So maybe it was foolish to be scared over loosing her, but he was.

Sliet looked at him, confused, and more than a little guilty. Why would worrying about someone be wrong? In any situation. "I don't think so. After all,i worry about you all the time. " she said simply. It was the truth, he seemed delicate to her, though she was rather confused as to why she cared about that at all, she didn't think it was wrong.

Harir glanced up and then away in embarrassment as she mentioned she worried about him too. He nodded a little.
He laid back down next to the fire quiet and thankful for the warmth. He was silent and starting to fall asleep before he heard movement relatively close. He shot up, leaping to his feet and turned to see four figures see him and duck behind a cluster of brambles. He tried to see for a moment, drawing his gun.

Sliet stared into the flames as things got quiet, losing herself in thought. She haf to tell Harir bout her theory of his brother, he should know. But, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she didnt. It wouldn't hurt anyone after all.
She jumped when Harir stood up suddenly, trying to see what he was looking at but finding nothing but brambles. "What is it? She whispered fearfully, standing and drawing her knife.

He hesitated. "I...I think it's those recruits." He told her, keeping an eye on the brambles. "Come out!" He demanded angrily, talking a few steps forward. "I Know you're in there!" He kept a gun trained on the thicket before, eventually, one of the boys, the brunet who's gun had jammed stepped out, his hands raised. "D-don't shoot-."
"What are you doing fallowing us?" Harir asked.
The boy hesitated, glaring at them. "W-we were going to fallow the tracks to a town or something." He added, attempting to sound sure, but it was obvious he was scared and cold. "..We're lost out here-" Added a voice from the brambles, fallowed by a hushing sound from another.

Sliet blinked at the boy in surprise. How log had they been there? Relaxing she stepped forward so that she was next to Harir. She looked over at him, unsure of what to do with them. "Well we can't exactly leave them out there. "She said with a shrug, half hoping he had an idea that was less risky.

Harir looked at Sliet questioningly, before gesturing for the kids to come over. "We won't shoot, but no weapons drawn." He warned.
The boy turned back after a moment of watching them warily and urged the others up.
The girl and first boy were supporting August while the first also had to pull the smaller quiet boy up by the hand and lead him along. They approached the fire with caution while the first kept an eye on them. They stood awkwardly, a little bit from the fire.
Harir hesitated to sit back down, as exhausted as he was, he was also wary

Sliet looked them up and down curiously, rather excited over the prospect of new company. She shuffled back to the fire, flopping right back down where she was. She kind of wanted to help them move August, but she was certain that wouldn't go over well. She looked between the kids and Harir awkwardly, the tension in the air painfully tangible. "So." She said, drawing the word out to break the silence. " seen any animals around? "

As Sliet sat down, seeming at ease, the four gradually sat down opposite to them, though the brunet boy was still extremely wary. The quiet one sat against him and didn't look up or seem to be taking in anything around him, almost exactly the same as he had been that morning, only no longer trembling. August, on the other side of him, clearly exhausted, seemed to be trying not to sleep. The girl sat on the outside, looking down in silence at the fire. At Sliet's question, August was the only one to speak. "We saw a couple hares.." He said tiredly before the first boy shot him a look and he glanced down.
Harir eventually sat down next to Sliet again.
