Re: Viking Au Rp
Raven turned away from the other to give her privacy, poking at the still-warm embers of the fire with a stick. She didn't sound okay. What was he supposed to say, anyway?
The others began to wake up at the sound of conversation. Unavyre took a while to sit up, but glanced over at Sliet and immediately glanced away, suddenly bewildered.
"Heeeyy furball. Sleep well?" Dalian teased sleepily, voiced edged with accusation as she finished up, less than friendly.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet winced at the name, pulling on her boots. What had happened with the bear? Obviously they hadn't just left her behind. How much did they know? What did they think of her now? Could they still do what they had set out to? "Like a baby." she grumbled.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Dalian glared at her. "Well I'm glad you did, the rest of us had to worry whether you were going to eat us in our sleep." He snapped. "You didn't even consider that turning into a bear would be something noteworthy you should tell us about?"
Raven glanced up at the blond. "Dalian." He warned.
"You know we almost killed you? I almost shot you in the head when I found you, the only reason you're alive is because Pel stopped me!" The blond got up, blocking her off from the campfire.
Raven got to his feet. "Dalian. Sit down."
The other ignored him, taking a step closer and gesturing in frustration." You know, after a bear killed half my friends, I was feeling a little distrustful. So what, were Hagr right? Is there anything else we should kno-"
"Dalian. I said sit down." Raven ordered, voice furious.
Dalian glanced back at the other and stepped back, plopping back on the log where he'd sat and glaring at Sliet.
Raven sat back as well, picking up one of the skewered fish and holding the stick out to Sliet. He then proceeded to hand one to Dalian, Unavyre and Pel.

Sliet looked away unable to meet Dalians eyes. She took the stick of fish silently but made no motion to eat it. She wasn't hungry. "I'm sorry" she managed after a moment, finding her words.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Dalian looked away as she apologized, unsure of what to say at this point.
Unavyre didn't look at anyone in the group, quietly eating the fish and feeling highly uncomfortable at everything going on.
Wulfar tried to meet eyes with Sliet, trying to offer some sort of assurance things were okay, and moved over from where he was sitting to make room for her.
"Don't be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong." Pel muttered without looking up at the woman, shooting Dalian a spiteful glare. She knew Sliet hated her but Dalian was being a jackass.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet looked up in confusion. "You mean I... It didn't do anything?" she asked quietly. If bear hadn't done anything then why was Dalian so upset with her?

"You just followed us and helped fish. Dalian's just upset because he almost hurt you." Pel clarified.
"Because you didn't tell us. We could have killed you. We need to communicate." Unavyre spoke up uncertainly. "How can we trust you if you won't tell us about something as important as that?" He faltered as Pel glared at him. "But... we know it might have been hard to say something... with how Hagr acted about your family." He added

Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet paused to think for a moment, setting her jaw. "We're not monsters." she stated, feeling the need to have that said.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Unavyre glanced up at Sliet for a moment at her reply, hesitating before looking down, not sure how to respond.
Dalian said nothing, crossing his arms and not looking at the other.
Raven nodded. "We know. It's fine." He assured, wishing too that she had told them, but not wanting to make her feel any more unwelcome after Dalian's outburst.

Sliet frowned. She was confused and frustrated with herself. It didn't feel fine. She took her spot next to wulfar, picking at her fish in tense silence.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Wulfar glanced at the other as she sat down, wanting to comfort her but not sure how without making her more uncomfortable.
The others ate their breakfast quietly before gathering their packs in awkward silence, getting up and moving on without saying much else.
Wulfar stuck with Sliet, walking with her to make sure she knew how he felt.
Raven eventually dropped back as well, hesitating before speaking up. "They'll get over it. They know you're not a monster. Dalian wouldn't hurt you... he just... we... there's trust issues, and... A lot of those people that died back there were our friends and family."

Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet kept pace with Wulfar at the back of the group running possible plans to make it up to the others through her mind. "I understand." she said softly, nodding to raven. There was a lot that she couldn't control. "Wulfar." she said in a hushed tone, leaning in close to the other. "How much do you trust things ghosts tell you?" she asked, clearly troubled.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Wulfar blinked at her. "They've never lied to me before." He told her honestly, keeping his voice quiet at well, but not sure why they were whispering.
Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet thought hard for a moment. "I think the bear might be Rika." she said with growing concern. She had been thinking about this ever since that night at the castle and Wulfar would be the one to know about ghosts.

Re: Viking Au Rp
Wulfar met the other's eyes, sharing her worry as he glanced away, considering. "You should tell the others... maybe once things calm down." He suggested gently. "If you think them knowing would help fix things."
Re: Viking Au Rp
Sliet inhaled sharply in panic. "I can't tell them. Not now." she hissed, terrified as to how they would react to her ancestor being the thing that had all but destroyed their clan, and that she could end up like him. She had been thinking of it for a while. If the bear was Rika, how had he ended up like he is now? Could it happen to any bear? Why hadn't it happened to anyone else?

Re: Viking Au Rp
Wulfar hesitated, understanding her fear but worried about how the others had reacted to dishonesty the first time. He didn't want to push her, and wasn't sure what was right at this point, anyway. Uncertain, he continued walking alongside her in silence.

Raven stood uncertainly with the Lord's daughter as the Ceremony finished and they were led to the ballroom, followed shortly after by the rest of the guests and procession. He glanced at her, Iste, wasn't it? Their arms were still intertwined with the cloth used for the ceremony, and yet they hadn't even spoken to one another. Despite the heavy winter cape weighing on his shoulders and the sword at his hip, he felt anything but secure. This was all... wrong. He guarded his emotions carefully, but his stomach twisted as he led the other forward into the bustling crowd as lute music spilled over the polished stone room. He felt his heart race at the sheer amount of people around them, but did his best to push down his unease.
Reishi had taught him the steps to the simple ball-dances, and he had no trouble with footwork after all his years of training with a sword, but he tried to be gentle as he led her about. Raven glanced at the young woman, conflicted and uncertain.
What in hell was he supposed to say?
"It is good to be able to talk with you," He tried, not at all sure how she was feeling about all this but trying to be cordial.
Pel made her way up to the balcony within the ballroom, still in her leathers and staring daggers at those who looked too long at her out-of place armor. She watched quietly over the whole scene, uncomfortable with the excitement but unafraid of the frail, jolly courtiers around her.
Dalian flirted about while Unavyre watched the celebration with mingled excitement and unease, both having lost track of Lyza, who was in the process of antagonizing a few noble boys at an edge of the room.
