Kat nodded and turned away, heading back down the hall at the other's reply.

Josey, upon waking up, glanced around the living quarters quietly. He hadn't slept well, but even the couch was better than anything he'd slept on before. He felt warm and well fed for the first time in a long time, though, he found it hard to appreciate. His heart still ached and every thought of his dad carried an angry weight with it. He pushed himself up from the couch, folding up the blanket and rubbing his eyes.

Sliet sat for several minutes, trying to decide if she really could pull this off on her own. She got up after a long while, finding a bag and filling it with rations and anything else she thought might be useful may or may not be twinkies and the stuffed horse. idk. before returning to the main room. She jumped a bit when she realized that Josey was awake, suddenly very nervous. "Hate to rush you, but we need to get going." she said, trying to keep her voice low and steady. hoping that Kat couldn't hear her.

Josey looked up at her uncertainly. "O-oh. Okay. Where are we going?" He asked softly. He assumed to go back to his father's body; Sliet had said something about that before, though he wasn't sure he felt up to it. He put his coat back on as he waited for an answer, shivering a little as he left his warm spot.

"I'll explain when we get out of here."She whispered, slinging the pack over her shoulder and heading for the door. She paused about halfway there, running back to the couch to grab the blanket as an afterthought and running back towards the exit.

Josey fallowed her quietly. uncertain now. He kept his mouth shut until they were outside and a little ways away from the center, then caught up with the other. "Sliet?" He asked, still keeping his voice low.

Sliet slowed, crossing her arms in an attempt to hide her hands shaking. She was nervous. She'd never been off on her own before, let alone for anything this dangerous. "Kat won't help, so you're going to take me to the settlement and i'm going to take care of the soldiers." She explained, forcing her voice to stay even. She knew how crazy it probably sounded, but to an extent, at least at the moment, she didn't care.

Josey starred at her with disbelief plastered on his face. "Take care of them? Sliet? There is a lot of em', they have guns, I don' think that's going to work." He protested, eyes searching the other in worry as he walked after her a bit.

The boy hesitated at her assurance; his didn't make much sense. He did want the Soldiers to leave the settlement, but this seemed sort of crazy. He fallowed after her quietly. There wasn't much else for him to do, as uncertain as he was.

Josey hesitated at the offer. As terrible as he felt for it, he didn't really want to go back to the man's body, especially not when it would be dark soon. Besides, the ground was frozen, and here wasn't really any trees around to use for a fire. He shook his head. "I-it's okay.." He trailed off uncertainly, fallowing her.

As they walked, he wasn't sure what to talk about, still feeling worried and conflicted. It was pitch black by the time they reached the settlement, smoke rose from a dead campfire, and it was all but silent. There was a small amount of movement, but no bustle.

Sliet slowed as they approached the settlement, watching it with a sense of finality She was really going to do this then. There was no longer any questioning it, it was too late for that now.
"You stay here. I'll be back later. Don't move." She instructed quietly before turning to head towards the settlement.

Josey looked at her in worry, half terrified his new friend was going to get herself killed, half glad to be able to not go into the fighting herself. He stayed where he was, watching her approach the settlement until he lost her in the darkness.

Dudley stood on look out, finding it hard to stand at attention next to the other soldier. Lieutenant Ahad was sleeping away his shift, his chest rising and falling slightly. He didn't bother to wake the man up, it was less likely he'd get shouted at if he just left the other alone. He looked up in worry as he noticed someone walking around. She looked about his age, dark hair; he wondered if she's was the Jefferson's daughter. He'd seen the girl out fetching water several times. What was she doing out so late? If Ahad or one of the other men saw her walking out alone, he didn't want to think what they'd do to her.
Dudly walked up to to the girl, keeping his gun away so as not to send her running. "Hey.. You.. You shouldn't be out here right now; if the the other soldiers see you they'll hurt you." The boy told her quickly, trying to make his voice stern, then hesitated and added. "If you need to get water or something I can help, or... or walk you back." He offered, a little less gruffly.

Sliet pulled her scarf up as she crept through the shadows, trying to cover as much of her face as she could without blocking off any of her field of vision. She snuck around the buildings, sticking ro the dark patches that were most difficult to see as not to get caught. She was trying to get a better idea as to where all of the soldiers were at the moment when she heard the voice from behind her. How had she not noticed him before? She froze when he started towards her, almost confused by what he was saying. She was surprised that he wasn't trying to beat the shit out of her already. He couldn't have been any older than she was either. She felt a pang of guilt at this, but quickly tried to smother it with a mental image of what they had done to josey's father. Of course all the soldiers weren't the same, but she stil had to take care of the ones that were really causing the problems, and this boy, however nice he may be, would probably still get in her way if she were to try it. She looked away quickly before back up at Anderson apologetically. "I'm sorry. " she muttered before punching him squarely in the jaw with what she hoped wasn't too much force.

Dudly hesitated at the girl's silence. Was she scared? He opened his mouth to speak and reassure her when she murmured something. The next thing he knew he was flat on the ground, red pain blotting out his sight. He let out something between a pained cry and a whine of fear, his first thought being that he'd been shot as he reached up to touch the side of his head, feeling dull panic run through him at the slick blood on his jaw before the pain ebbed away to unconsciousness and the boy went limp on the snow.

The lieutenant stood drowsily from his post as he heard a shout, looking around and drawing his gun. Where in hell had the brat gone now? He felt alarm run up his spine, looking around for the noise and Anderson.

Kathrine headed in the direction of One Tree, listening for any sign of Sliet. She was still a ways off, but from what she could tell, there was no fire or gunshots, so maybe it wasnt too late.

Sliet watched uncertainly as the boy collapsed to the ground. Maybe this was a bad idea. It was too late now. And someone might have heard them over here. She had to move.
She listened for anyone else that might be nearby. She ducked around the building in the direction of the lieutenant, peeking at him warily. he had a gun, but he seemed to be alone, and probably didn't know exactly where she was. She could probably use that to her advantage. She just had to try and make sure he didn't make much noise.

The man walked warily in the direction of the yell, bending down when he noticed the Junior Lieutenants body on the ground, a small pool of blood on the snow beneath his head. He immediately stood up and back, Yelling out for the others at the fire and he jogged back past the watch building.

The captain and the few mercy corps around the fire turned to look at the other, only one of them paying any real attention. What was it now? Another wild dog? The Lieutenant was such a coward.

Sliet jumped again when she heard the man yell, turning and running in his direction. assassins creed bullshit time She ran up behind him, drawing her kife and half tackling him so that she landed on his back in a crouch. It only took her a second to bring the knife down and drive it into his neck, not really stopping to think until it was too late. She got to her feet again when the lieutenant was completely silent, bringing her knife with her. It was only then that she noticed the soldiers around the fire. Shit. She turned on her heel, stumbling a bit over the dead mans legs before she bolted back into the dark where she had the advantage.

The Captain stood as he noticed the brief struggle, drawing his gun immediately. he was still a little off and felt calm from the whisky, but he was sure he could handle a bandit or two. "Dawn, go wake up the others, Samson, on me." He spoke softly as he turned and then marched towards where the other had gone silent. When he noticed the Lietenants body he froze, aiming into the black and motioning for Dawn to move backwards again.

Sliet watched the two from the shadow of a building, feeling trapped. She had almost forgotten about the guns. She reached down to scoop up a handfull of snow, packing it into a ball like her and Alex always did at home. She watched them for another moment, hesitating before throwing the ball of compacted snow at the building accross from her.

The captain turned and aimed his gun at the sound, freezing, while Samson jumped and let a shot go off, looking around and obviously started.

Private Dawn paused at the commotion before going to wake the others. She didn't know what was going on, but this couldn't be that bad, could it? She held her weapon close as she ran and went into the bunkhouse.
A few started getting on their boots at the news of a possible bandit and filed outside, heading down to the camp fire.

The Captain turned in shock as his colleague was taken down, his eyes widening in bewilderment as he noticed the girl. He raised his gun quickly and fired as quickly as he could.

At the gunshots, Dawn and the others ran down towards the gun fire, a few even starting to take cover before they noticed the child. A couple seemed just as shocked as the captain, but a few quickly raised their weapons and took shots at her.

Josey shook at the sound of the gunfire, getting to his feet. He couldn't just leave Sliet down there, she was going to die. Though, he wasn't sure what he could even do at this point. He hesitated, wanting to go down but terrified of being killed.

Sliet ducked to the side as the man fired at her before she heard the footsteps feom behind her. Moving as fast as she could she jumped behind the captain, letting him take the bullets.
Before much longer she had managed to take out another two of the soldiers, falling into a blood soaked daze until there were only a couple left.

As the girl promptly wiped out the majority of the soldiers, Dawn ran. With the officers dead, she wasn't sticking around getting herself killed for the villiagers. The last soldier still moving, an older first lieutenant, struggled away on his back while keeping his pistol aimed and shooting the last two rounds.

Kathrine sprinted into the dark, the moonlight against the snow the only source of light as she heard the fighting ensue. That had to be Sliet. Her heart threatened to beat out of her chest as she stumbled into the icy clearing, The dying light of the unattended fire illuminated the scene in front of her, the golden light reflecting off of the bloodied bodies strewn about the snow. She felt her stomach twist in horror and fear for Sliet as she noticed the little one standing over the soldiers. "Sliet..." She breathed, her mouth dry and her feet frozen in place.
